Matthew Bending

Matthew Bending has a BA (Hons) in Politics and History, PG Dip in Business Administration and the CIM Diploma. After many years as an international money broker in the City Matthew moved to Scotland to take up the post of Marketing Manager for Standard Life Investments “Scottish Shopping Centres”, which kick-started the SpaceandPeople concept.

Nancy Cullen

A Business Graduate with French and Marketing, Nancy started out as a Graduate Trainee with BP and worked for BAA. She left to be Marketing Manager for Intercity and the Marketing Manager for Eurostar, then spent 7 years as Marketing Manager at Brent Cross in North London - responsible for the development of commercial strategy and first steps in commercialisation as well as all Marketing Activity. Nancy won several awards including Jean Louis Salal Award for Marketing at ICSC for Brent Cross relaunch campaign and BCSC awards for PR and marketing activities.

Richard Chadwick

A Chartered Accountant, on qualifying Richard spent 5 years with KPMG in Montreal, specialising in Retail. Returning to the UK he joined Sainsbury’s, holding several senior finance roles including Director of Risk & Audit, Director of Corporate Finance and Director of Business Development. He set up ands ran Sainsbury’s Bank, was a Non-Executive Director of Shaw’s (their US subsidiary) and JS |Developments (their property development subsidiary), and was a trustee of their pension funds. Richard Chadwick is a member of the Audit and Remuneration committees.

David Henderson-Williams

David has been a director of SpaceandPeople since October 2006, and Chairman since June 2007. He is very experienced and highly regarded in the property world. With Hark Group he has acquired and managed The Forge Shopping Centre, Glasgow and more recently The Arcades, Ashton-under-Lyne and Telford Shopping Centre in conjunction with joint venture partners. He was previously a main board member at Chesterfield Properties Plc and CEO of their USA business, where he undertook retail developments with major American developers such as General Growth and McArthur Glen. David Henderson-Williams is a member of the Audit and Remuneration committees.

Martin Kemp

Martin Kemp is Managing Director of Retail Profile (Europe) Limited. Prior to joining the company in August 2008, Martin spent 18 months in a start-up company in the entertainment sector and prior that, four years as a Director of a homeware manufacturing business. After graduating with an Economics Degree, Martin spent over 20 years at Marks & Spencer, where he held a number of senior roles within the Clothing & Homeware Divisions, as well as a two year Executive assignment to the Chairman and CEO’s office.

Maurice Helfgott

Maurice Helfgott is the Founder Director of Amery Capital Limited (www.amerycap.com), where he leads the acquisition and strategic development of the company's investments. He is Director of Long Tall Sally Limited, which in October 2009 acquired Tall Girls (Canada), and Chairman of luxury footwear brand, Oliver Sweeney. In April 2010, Amery Capital announced the sale of Retail Profile Holdings Limited to SpaceandPeople achieving 3.5 times multiple on capital invested and was subsequently appointed a Director on the company's Board

Prior to founding Amery Capital over five years ago, Maurice was an Executive Director on the main Board of Marks and Spencer plc, holding a variety of roles over a 16-year career. He holds an MBA with High Distinction from Harvard Business School and is involved with a number of charitable and not-for-profit organisations.

Christopher Stainforth

He qualified as a chartered accountant with Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & co in 1975 and later helped to create their Middle Eastern offices. He then joined Schroder’s corporate finance department before going to Phillips & Drew where, by 1989, he had become managing director of Corporate Finance of UBS Phillips & Drew. He was Head of Corporate finance at Guinness Mahon where he orchestrated the merger with Henderson Crossthwaite and then joined Ermgassen & co Ltd, a cross border M & A boutique. He became CEO of Durlacher which acquired Panmure Gordon in 2005. In 2005, he joined Saphire (a corporate finance boutique) as a partner and in 2008 he rejoined Ermgassen. He has also been a director of over a dozen quoted companies in a variety of sectors.
